Hesper and Luther Little
Hesper and Luther Little

The four masted schooners, Hesper and Luther Little, were for many years prime tourist attractions in Wiscasset Maine. Used originally for coal and lumber trade, the schooners were replaced by steamships, and these became permanent residents of Wiscasset in early 1930’s. There the remained until the elements took their toll, and they were hauled away in 1998. This photo was taken around 1976, when Luther Little’s masts still stood.
